Prasiolite (Green Amethyst)
Although it is commonly called “green amethyst”, prasiolite is a yellow-green or green variety of quartz in the same way that amethyst is, by definition, a purple variety of quartz. The gemstone’s name comes from the Greek words prason (leek) and lithos (stone).
